Dr Courtney Maxwell
BSc MHSc (Osteo) Registered Osteopath
Courtney will return from maternity leave on Tuesday the 1st of August 2023! Courtney firmly believes in the osteopathic philosophy that the body is a self-healing mechanism, given the right opportunity. She uses this philosophy to treat patients of all ages. Courtney completed her Masters in Health Science (Osteopathy) at Victoria University, and a year-long internship at Aim Osteopathy in 2018, where she worked alongside our skilled practitioners treating babies, children, and women during and after pregnancy, a special interest she looks forward to continuing. Since then, Courtney has been working with another renowned paediatric osteopath in the outer Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. During this time, she has developed another special clinical interest in treating chronic (persistent) pain, particularly relating to recurrent headache and migraine disorders. Courtney believes the optimal outcome happens when she works as part of a team with your health professionals - this doubly important when working with the multi-faceted issue of persistent pain. Courtney has completed several short courses through Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation, in Cranial Osteopathy and Balanced Ligamentous Tension technique, as well as other courses relating to jaw pain, headaches, chronic pain management and workplace health and safety. She uses structural and indirect techniques in combination with lifestyle and exercise advice to obtain the optimal treatment outcomes. Courtney is a Migraine Australia Ambassador for Melbourne and runs an online support group for people with chronic headaches.
