What to expect from your first appointment

Adults and Pregnancy:

At your initial appointment an in-depth medical health history is taken before a focus is placed on your presenting complaint. This ensures that all contributing factors to your complaint are considered and addressed.

A thorough examination will follow, the osteopath will examine your posture, watch your movement and physically examine the area and surrounding areas to determine a diagnosis and treatment plan.    

Although all styles of osteopathic technique are utilised, treatment is always applied in a gentle and respectful manner. The osteopaths at Aim Osteopathy have extensive post-graduate training in cranial osteopathy (OCF). 

For your baby/child:

The clinical history will include all of the standard developmental milestones and relevant medical screening. You will be informed as to whether osteopathic treatment will benefit your child. Your osteopath may suggest exercises or activities which may assist between treatments.
We pride ourselves on liaising with other medical professionals and your child's paediatrician, as we feel that a team approach to your baby's health always produces the best outcome.

Brendan, Allison and Kristin all hold a Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy from the world-renowned Osteopathic Centre for Children in London which included time spent treating premature infants in two Neonatal Intensive Care Units within London hospitals.

Consultation Fees

Initial Consultation (up to 1 hour) $ 160
Subsequent Consultation (30-45 mins) $ 120

We offer HICAPS rebates for all major health funds with 'extras' packages covering osteopathy. Medicare CDM plans (chronic disease management plan) are also welcome.

Due to the high demand for appointments, should you need to cancel an appointment we respectfully request your cooperation in providing us with ample notice. We require at least 24 hours notice for cancellation otherwise there will be a cancellation fee charged. 

​If you fail to turn up to your appointment or cancel within 2 hours of your appointment a 100% fee will be charged
